FAA/ICAO to EASA Licence Conversion
Conversion courses are approved on a case-by-case basis by the Civil Aviation Directorate of Transport Malta (TM-CAD) according to your experience and as indicated on PEL 80. However, provided you hold a current and valid ICAO CPL with a current and valid MEP and ME-IR rating, the conversion program is expected to be as follows:
- Pass an EASA Class 1 Medical examination. We will help you organize this in Malta.
- Complete the ATPL theoretical knowledge course and pass the 13 ATPL theoretical examinations + the 100KSA modules. We will assist you in the preparation for these examinations through our distance learning.
- Web-based training course means you can commence the training without delay.
- English Language Proficiency (ELP) test in Malta. (It could also be required to pass a Radio Telephony practical examination in English)
- For FAA conversions the BASA agreement is in place which means that some of the above will not be necessary.
- Complete flight training as required.
If you have ATPL endorsed on your licence you will only be required to pass the exams and not attend the whole course and could then possibly do your conversion on type.
Other requirements:
- TM-CAD licence validation, acceptance of conversion request, and proposed training plan.
- To request a quote we will need a copy of your licence, medical, last pages of logbook as well as a detailed summary of your hours/ratings
