About the Academy

Professional Aviation Training Academy – Malta, a division of Malta School of Flying, is certified as a pilot training organization by the Civil Aviation Directorate of Transport Malta and recognized by the Malta National Commission for Further and Higher Education. As an accredited flying school, the Academy continuously undergoes various rigorous evaluations and audits to ensure that all required safety and training standards are adhered to.

Our History

Malta School of Flying was formed in May 2004, when Mr Patrick Fenech, then a young private pilot, teamed up with Mr Kenneth Caruana, an entrepreneur and private pilot, to purchase a Cessna 206. Aware of the limitations in flight training in Malta at the time, when only a basic PPL was available, the school initially provided instruction for pilots who wanted to fly more complex, powerful aircraft.

Training Base

The Malta International Airport is located within the largest island in the archipelago, Malta. This world-class international airport boasts all facilities typically associated with a commercial airport environment and is connected to all major European airports through daily flights. Malta Airport has been included in the Airport Council’s International Director-General Roll of Excellence.

7 December 2017 – Completed my CPL, ME-IR last summer with a first time pass. I surely couldn’t have made it without all the dedication & preparation provided by the academy. Very professional and well-equipped. A school with their own maintenance facility offering high quality maintenance and efficiency for the student. I would highly recommend this school to anyone thinking of pursuing a career in aviation. Well done to all involved.
