About the Academy

Malta School of Flying trades as Professional Aviation Training Academy – Malta. The Academy is certified as a pilot training organization by the Civil Aviation Directorate of Transport Malta (TM-CAD) and recognized by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) as a Tuition Centre. As an accredited flying school, the Academy continuously undergoes various rigorous evaluations and audits to ensure that all required safety and training standards are adhered to.

Why Us

At Professional Aviation Training Academy – Malta, we have more than 13 years’ experience in the flight training industry, with a 100% safety record. We also have Malta’s largest team of highly-qualified and experienced flight instructors, with the largest fleet of training aircraft. By offering all the training courses in-house, becoming a pilot is now within your reach.

Our History

Malta School of Flying was formed in May 2004, when Mr Patrick Fenech, then a young private pilot, teamed up with Mr Kenneth Caruana, an entrepreneur and private pilot, to purchase a Cessna 206. Aware of the limitations in flight training in Malta at the time, when only a basic PPL was available, the school initially provided instruction for pilots who wanted to fly more complex, powerful aircraft.

Training Base

The Malta International Airport is located within the largest island in the archipelago, Malta. This world-class international airport boasts all facilities typically associated with a commercial airport environment and is connected to all major European airports through daily flights. Malta Airport has been included in the Airport Council’s International Director-General Roll of Excellence.

Facilities

Our office and training facilities are based airside of Malta International Airport. There are several approved lecture and briefing rooms, a dedicated Radio Telephony section and a library which offers access to numerous publications for research and revision. All areas have Wi-Fi coverage and the library is equipped with computers where students can do their flight planning. The breakout room is the central meeting place for students and the terrace has the best views of the airport!
